How to use dental floss?
Proper using dental floss removes dental plaque and debris from places which are difficult accessible for a toothbrush that is below gingival line and interdental spaces. Dental plaque forming can result in dental caries and gingival diseases and that is why using dental floss every day is highly recommended.
- Step 1: Take about 50 cm of dental floss and wrap it around your middle fingers leaving about 2 cm between fingers.
- Step 2: Then you should strain dental floss using a thumb and index finger and put it gently between teeth.
- Step 3: Next, you should bend a dental floss around a tooth in the shape of Lester C and gently move it up and down and below gingival line. Passing on another tooth unwind clean part of a dental floss.
- Step 4: In order to take out a dental floss, you should do the same forward and backward motions, move a dental floss up and take it out from teeth.

You can choose one of two dental floss types:
- Nylon dental floss,
- PTFE dental floss (single fibre).
Nylon dental floss can be waxed or non-waxed and it is available in different smell. This type of dental floss consists of many nylon fibres resulting in fraying during brushing. Dental floss of single fibre easly moves between teeth. Proper using both types of dental floss gives perfect effects as far as dental plaque and debris removal.
